About the role
Sussex is mid-way through a digital transformation programme that includes a new website and content operating model. It’s a significant change for the organisation. For the next six months, we’re looking for a proactive and flexible person to join our content strategy team and help us move content from an old CMS into a new CMS.
Our skilled content designers create, design and manage user-focused digital content that aligns with our brand and web standards. You’ll champion user needs while helping different parts of the University achieve their business goals across our online estate.
Your expertise in user-focused content design, decision-making based on analytics and skills in building trust and confidence with stakeholders will be critical to your success in this role.
The post-holder will advocate for content approaches that support SEO and web best practices, being proactive in improving content where necessary.
About you
You can actively listen and ask questions to understand problems, but you're able to get the job done. You're aware of your strengths and weaknesses, but can make recommendations. You can see other people’s point of view while working towards solutions. These are crucial behaviours, as it has become clear that digital transformation is as much about understanding people as it is about understanding systems or being creative.
You’re able to think about organisations from the outside in, viewing content and processes from the perspective of the people trying to interact with services and access information. You’ll naturally have a high attention to detail as well as good writing and editing skills, meaning you can switch between being detail-orientated and thinking more generally about what our audiences are trying to do on our website and other platforms and also what we want to tell them about Sussex.
