The post
The faculty wishes to recruit one researcher (postdoctoral research associate/ research fellow level) to support delivery of the NIHR-funded programme of research, ImPROving GROUP Treatment for People with Severe Obesity (the “PROGROUP” programme).
The successful applicant will support the PROGROUP team in delivering and evaluating the PROGROUP intervention in both NHS specialist weight management services and in primary care.
The post holder will support the mixed methods process evaluation, using mainly qualitative methods to understand participant experience and service implementation, but will also contribute to wider aspects of the programme delivery. As the role involves liaising closely with colleagues, collaborators and service providers across multiple sites, the candidate is required to be in the office at least two days a week and visit partner sites across the UK. Those with research experience in the areas of health services, health behaviour change, including the online delivery of health interventions and process evaluation (particularly qualitative data collection and analysis) are encouraged to apply.
About you
The successful applicant will be able to present information on research progress and outcomes, communicate complex information, orally, in writing and electronically and prepare proposals and applications to external bodies.
Applicants will possess a relevant PhD (or nearing completion) or possess an equivalent qualification/experience in a related field of study and be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge in the discipline and of research methods and techniques to work within established research programmes.
