About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Sussex Projects – Portfolio Office for a Portfolio Office Manager (maternity cover). Join a dynamic Portfolio Office that operates as a Centre of Excellence— advocating for excellence in projects management across the University.
The Portfolio Office Manager is responsible for leading and managing the University’s Portfolio Office; the role holder will foster a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement to deliver high quality services to drive project management best practices, oversee governance and assurance and support training and development.
About you
A successful candidate for this role will be an effective leader with experience of leading a project management office; capable of managing and motivating a small team while coordinating complex Portfolio Office activities. They will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across diverse stakeholder groups.
The ideal candidate will be highly organised, analytical, and solutions-focused, with a clear commitment to continuous improvement. You are able to prioritise activities and work in a fast-paced environment, and enjoy the challenges associated with noticing problems and figuring out potential solutions.
